Taxi accident near Umhlali leaves 17 people injured
The taxi landed on its side on the central island of the N2.
The driver of a taxi lost control while driving on the N2, just before the Umhlali off-ramp at about 6am this morning, leaving 17 people injured.
“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the twisted frame of the vehicle had come to rest in the centre median. The injured had clambered from the wreckage, some with the help of other commuters,” said media liaison officer – Netcare 911, Chris Botha.
After the injured were examined, medics established that six people had sustained serious injuries while 11 miraculously escaped with minor injuries.
Medics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to various hospitals.
