Heroes come in all sizes

The children donated 769 packets of soup, 56 cans of soup, 104 blankets and 348 pairs of socks to the Orphan Fund's Soup and Sox campaign.

The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund was initiated 13 years ago with the purpose of channeling aid to the orphaned and vulnerable children within the newspaper circulation area.

This year, the Fund was once again pleased to welcome its young recruits, the pre-school pupils of Ashton International College.

The children donated 769 packets of soup, 56 cans of soup, 104 blankets and 348 pairs of socks to the Orphan Fund’s Soup and Sox campaign, proving that heroes come in all sizes.

With the theme of a silly socks and soup day last Friday, the ”Ashlings” showed off their own creations by wearing their silly socks, that combined with their cheerful grins was indeed a winning combination. Waving their soup packets, blankets and socks, the Ashlings recited the phrase, “We are blessed to be a blessing.”
