A night in the kennels

"I want people to experience what it is like for a dog to spend 15 hours in the kennels every night" - David Hanson

Puppy SOS’ David Hanson is going to swap his warm, comfy bed for a cold kennel on July 9 and wants you to join him.

“The kennels close at 4pm and open again at 7pm. By spending a night in a kennel, I want people to experience what it is like for a dog to spend 15 hours in there, every night,” said Hanson, whose life mission is to save and help puppies by giving them loving, forever homes.

“I hope to get seven volunteers to buddy up with a dog and to do video blogs through the night to share the experience. Ultimately, I want to try get as much exposure for the dogs in the kennels as possible, hoping it will encourage people to adopt, not shop. It is going to be a really tough night, but while it is one night for us, it is what these dogs go through every night.”

He said volunteers can get sponsonred by friends, family and workmates to help towards the kennel fees and food.
