KDM staff’s excellence recognised

The awards were given to those who have truly raised the bar in terms of capacity, growth, value and contributions towards advancing the agenda of local government.

KwaDukuza mayor, Ricardo Mthembu has awarded KwaDukuza municipal workers with accolades of excellence in recognition of their progressive contributions in local government at the third annual staff awards ceremony.

“In placing KwaDukuza in the centre of excellence, we honour those who do well at improving service delivery so that they are motivated to optimally do what they do best,” said Mthembu.

“We also honoured those who have been with the municipality for better part of their lives. We will be bidding our farewell to them and wishing them a happy retirement, hoping that we will also be able to tap into their wealth of experience as we engage in the national effort to improve the quality of lives of our people.”

The mayor also gave awards to the first group of bursary beneficiaries who have obtained qualifications through an internal bursary scheme that was launched in 2013.

“We carry out this annual exercise because we value our administrators and understand that the future of this institution rests in the political will and in the hands of the people who are at the coalface of service delivery”, said Mthembu.
