Swiss Miss interested in Ilembe business

The focus of the discussions was the economic potential of the Ilembe district and bilateral business opportunities for Swiss and Ilembe based businesses.

An informal lunch with the Swiss ambassador to South Africa, Helen Budliger Artieda, revealed to Ilembe Chamber‘s Cobus Oelofse and Phil de Sylva that the district’s tourism potential is underutilised.

The focus of the discussions held on July 21 at Fairmont Zimbali was the economic potential of the Ilembe district and bilateral business opportunities for Swiss and Ilembe based businesses.

“It once again became obvious that with traditional holiday destinations in Europe losing their allure, the tourism potential of our district remain untapped, especially in comparison to the iconic status of the Western Cape which remains very popular with western European tourists,” said Ilembe chamber CEO, Cobus Oelofse.
