Embroidery for your eyes
The micro-stoke technique is the latest method for creating the most natural looking permanent eyebrows.
Eyebrows are said to be the most important feature of your face.
They accentuate your eyes, enhance your expressions and emphasise facial symmetry.
But perhaps you are not satisfied with the ones you have.
The micro-stoke technique or microblading (aka eyebrow embroidery) is the latest method for creating the most natural looking permanent eyebrows.
Gone are the days of stenciled, pasted-on looking eyebrows!
Now you can get a ‘tattoo’ that looks completely natural.

We spoke to Cindy Brand of Vanilla Beauty Salon in Salt Rock, one of the few local beauticians who offer this service.
“This is a very natural option that delivers semi-permanent results. Unlike the sometimes Sharpie-esque effects of permanent makeup, microblading is more of an embroidery of trompe l’oeil (a visual illusion) with individual
strokes that look just like real hairs,” said Brand.
She said the micro-stroke method is considered by the international beauty industry as the highest standard in permanent eyebrows.
“During the first appointment I first design the eyebrows using a cosmetic pencil and allow the client to visualise the best shape for their face.
“Every brow design is unique to suit each client’s individual facial features and personality.”
Brand then places the pigment colour strokes individually, hair by hair, to build the eyebrow that looks “authentic, natural and flawless”.
Similar to a tatoo artist she uses a fine blade instrument to create each individual hair. The procedure takes an hour and lasts for a few years.
Vanilla Beauty Salon is offering micro-blading at an introductory rate of only R900.
