Police disperse N2 Sibaya protestors

The N2 is now safe for commuters.

Peak traffic came to a standstill this afternoon on the N2 between Sibaya and Umhlanga when the road, north and south bound, was barricaded by protestors.

At about 3.30pm a group of people dragged logs and tyres onto the road before setting them alight.

Police managed to re-open the road after 5pm.

The reason for the illegal protest remains unclear.

A heavy police presence on the N2 once the protestors were removed.
