eThekwini Municipality is gearing up to host a bumper exhibition this year with more than 250 exhibitors showcasing their greening products and services.

Food prices have been steadily increasing, making it unaffordable to the common man.
The cost of fuel, electricity has increased too, forcing everyone to tighten their belts. That is why the Sustainable Living Exhibition that will take place from August 19 -21 at the Durban Exhibition Centre is one that no one should miss.
eThekwini Municipality is gearing up to host a bumper exhibition this year with more than 250 exhibitors showcasing their greening products and services.
The exhibition is taking in partnership with the KZN Botanical Society who hosts the Indigenous Plant Fair with thousands of water wise plants on sale.
The event promises to be a fun, educational and informative showcase of all things green, environmentally friendly and sustainable.
Packed with water saving technology, energy saving gadgets, recycling alternatives, food and water wise garden advice and ideas, the exhibition will make it easy for you to green your lifestyle, save money and conserve the environment.
Some of the highlights include a shipping container that has been converted into a boardroom showing the public an example of sustainable solutions to water, energy and building materials.
Visit the go-Durban stand to learn to more about what the city’s vision for an efficient public transport system.
The Fashion Show by Durban University of Technology Design students is another not-to-be-missed feature on the show programme. Students show off their creativity by designing garments made of recyclable material.
There is something for everyone at the event with activities for both young and old planned including talks, demonstrations, puppet shows, quizzes and movies.
The exhibition provides a perfect platform to inspire people to start living more sustainably. Simple actions such as recycling, saving water and electricity, planting an indigenous tree and a food garden will go a long way in conserving our environment and addressing food security.
People are urged to bring along unwanted clothes, books, toys and shoes for donation to a worthy charity.
