Ballito teens mobilise hearts for guard’s orphaned children
The Enforce Security reaction officer was killed in a gun battle with burglars two weeks ago.
Crawford North Coast pupils, Courtney Fitchat and Deryn Burns have taken it upon themselves to set up a fund-raising initiative for the children of Enforce Security reaction officer, Moses Makhoba who was shot and killed in Ballito two weeks ago.

Makhoba was ambushed after responding to a burglary at Mangwanani African Spa on Douglas Crowe Drive on August 9.
He left behind two children aged seven and 13.
After reading the story in The North Coast Courier, the 17-year-old girls were filled with compassion for the children.
They discovered that the children now lived with an aunt who is unemployed and decided to collect food, clothing items and money for the children’s education.
“I was really sad when I read the story because we always see Enforce parked outside our homes and school.
“It is sad to think that he died trying to keep people safe,” said Fitchat.
“What made it worse for me is when I read that Moses’ wife passed away a year ago.
“We take our parents for granted and these two children will grow up without even one, ” she said.
The teens are still in the process of setting up drop off points for the clothing and food items, however, they are willing to pick up donations.
A trust has been set up by Enforce Security for monetary donations.
Other local businesses and organisations have already started contributing, such as Ballito Neighbourhood Watch that donated R5000 to the trust.
