Authenticity unlocks your success
The women explored how to confidently execute a career in order to achieve goals and make an impact that matters.
In keeping with women’s month, the celebration of phenomenal ladies continued as Deloitte together with Citadel held an exclusive Women’s Day breakfast on Friday, August 19, inviting remarkable ladies who have respectfully excelled in their given careers.
The group listened and shared in a topic that is often downplayed at the work place: self love in leadership.
The theme of the event focused on “making an impact that matters through authenticity.”
An impressive discussion panel was made up of guest speakers from MassCash Holding’s finance director, Thiru Naicker, Leadership and Life Coaching International, Nerisha Maharaj, Deloitte’s associate director, Carryn Tennent and auditor, Kimmy Singh, Citadel wealth management’s Laura Marthinusen and Romano ambassador and senior image consultant, Wendy Hind.
Together with the audience, the women explored how to confidently execute a career in order to achieve goals and make an impact that matters.
Life coach, Nerisha Maharaj said thoughts play an important role in defining character.
“Our own thoughts is often what holds us back in life. The negative thoughts escalate and we set limitations upon ourselves and when we do not achieve our goals, we blame everyone else but ourselves.”
Maharaj emphasised that realising the power within yourself is an important step in self discovery as well as helping others.
“If you do not spend time alone, you will not know who you are and your ability to be authentic will be moot,” said Maharaj.
Closing the event, Romano ambassador and senior image consultant, Wendy Hind shared tips on how to carry oneself and the importance of creating a good self image.
“Your hair and make up are equally important to what you wear. Often we go out and we are not comfortable with our choice of wardrobe. This drastically affects our confidence. You need to know your body and dress accordingly.”
