It’s a dog’s life
He was abandoned and trapped between two walls without food or water for days before being rescued by the SPCA.
Salt Rock’s Tristan Rasmussen has a knack for breathing life into the old and forgotten.
In this case the unusual combination of a stray dog and a rust bucket have both benefited from his tender care and can both be seen cruising around town with him and his wife Lee.
From ‘left for dead’ to ‘king of the world,’ rescue dog Ziggy has really come on strong after being saved.
He was abandoned and trapped between two walls without food or water for days before being rescued by the SPCA. Now Ziggy is a happy, healthy bundle of energy.
A member of the Africanus breed, Ziggy was adopted by Lee and Tristan who recently relocated from Durban to Dunkirk Estate in Salt Rock. The Rasmussens say since they adopted him Ziggy has grown into a member of the family.
“We can see he is enjoying his new life on the North Coast – we are so glad we made the move… and rescue dogs are extra special!”
Tristan’s love for military Jeeps saw him acquire a 1946 Willys which he has refurbished over a period of eight months and decided to call “Salty Dog,” and Ziggy loves nothing better than riding atop his fellow rescue with the wind in his hair.
