Man’s body found below a cliff in Nsuze

It is believed that there was an argument at a tavern in the area on Friday evening and the man was thrown off the cliff later that night.

The body of a man (38) was recovered at the base of  a 50 metre cliff in the Nsuze area, close to Bhamshela today.

According to IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst, the man is believed to have been thrown off the cliff on Friday.

IPSS Medical Rescue assisted the SAPS K9 unit and Police Search and Rescue with the recovery of the body.

“Specialised high angle equipment and systems were set up to lower rescuers down the mountain, to  retrieve the body.

“Thereafter the body was packaged and hauled up to the cliff top,”  said Herbst.

“It’s believed that the man was pushed or thrown off the cliff on Friday night after an argument at a tavern in the area.

“The remains were handed over to local police for further investigation.”
