Ballito beauty is timeless

Ballito's Margie Els showed that real beauty never fades.

Ballito’s Margie Els was crowned first princess, Alta Van Schalkwyk was second princess and Rochelle Morgan from Mid Rand won the annual Mr/Miss Just Juice Umhlanga Pageant Ladies Masters (35+) division.

More than 140 entries across all categories lined up to walk the stage for the judges. Margie, who at 55 looks stunning, moved down from Johannesburg six years ago and finding the peaceful lifestyle in Ballito much more to her liking than the rat race of Gauteng.

She is the mother of two grown up children and one adopted 13-year-old daughter.

After a career in nursing, Margie now helps with fundraising at Ubuhle Women’s Empowerment Group at Shakaskraal and various other charity organisations.

She is also the current Mrs KZN Ambassador.

“The Just Juice Umhlanga Pageant was awesome, such a lovely idea for holiday makers to take part in,” said Els

“I will be back again next year for some more fun.”

The beach competition is part of the annual Umhlanga Summer Festival.
