Three dead, 10 injured in horror KwaDukuza crash
Rescue workers arrived to find that people had been flung from the vehicles in the crash.
Just after 9pm last night two VW Golf’s were involved in a head-on collision on the Doosberg road in KwaDukuza.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst, paramedics and firefighters arrived at the crash to find people still trapped inside the vehicles.
Others had been flung from the vehicles during the crash.
“KwaDukuza Fire and Rescue Services set about gaining access to the entrapped using the jaws of life,” said Herbst.
“Three people – both drivers and one passenger – were declared dead.”
Herbst said one of the patients was in a critical condition and required advanced life support.
“A further nine people sustained moderate to minor injuries and were taken to various medical facilities.”
The Doosberg road was closed for a period of time and has since been reopened.
