Family of four left injured after roof collapses
EMRS has responded to many accidents in the last 24 hours due to the wet weather
A family of four were seriously injured when the roof of their house came crashing down due to the heavy rain.
KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Service spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said the the incident took place just after midnight last night.
“The family was asleep in their dwelling when the roof collapsed. Two adults and two children were seriously injured. They were transported to hospital. They are now stable and recovering in hospital.”
Mckenzie said they had responded to many accidents in the last 24 hours due to the wet weather.
“Drivers need to take extra caution on the roads. The rules are to increase following distance, turn on your headlights and drive slower than usual.”
