RE/MAX to float SRU’s boat

On the top of Specialised Rescue Unit (SRU)’s wishlist is a new rubberduck to allow them to better carry out sea rescues and the like.

Thanks to RE/MAX Dolphin Realtors raffle in support of SRU they may soon be able to ride the sea in style.

The raffle includes fantastic prizes with first place being a night in Zimbali’s presidential suite worth R26 000 and second place being a meal for ten people at Mo-Zam-Bik. In total the many prizes up for grabs are worth nearly R50 000.

RE/MAX’s Simon Peacock told The Courier they are already nearly a third of the way to the total.

“The aim of our raffle is to raise the R100 000 that is needed for this boat.

“RE/MAX has a long history of social responsibility on the Dolphin Coast but in previous years we spread ourselves a little thin. This year we decided to focus on fewer charities and hopefully make a bigger difference to the groups we support.”

SRU operates all over the North Coast, saving people and animals and helping locals who find themselves in difficult situations.

“A lot of individuals and businesses dug deep and donated fantastic prizes for the raffle worth tens of thousands of rands, including a luxury night away and more.”
