New homes for rescues thanks to Ballito puppy adoption day

The puppy adoption day was held at Cat Box Pet Hyper Ballito.

At least 100 people arrived at Cat Box Pet Hyper Ballito on Saturday for the puppy adoption day, organised by Humans Helping Animals.

Store manager Nicole Marais said of the nine puppies up for adoption, two had been adopted and one was pending.

“Obviously, we could have hoped for more but we happy with the turnout. Hopefully, our next adoption day will be bigger,” said Marais.

Founder of Humans Helping Animals, Jeannie Pedersen, thanked everyone who came.

“R600 and dog food was donated and we are so grateful. The money will help us with our vet bills.”

She said the puppies came from Driefontein where her organisation runs an outreach programme.

“We help residents by vaccinating, with sterilisation and educating them on how to take good care of their pets,” said Pedersen.
