These boards will make road users aware of traffic conditions, accidents and other incidents on the northern side of the N2.
SANRAL eastern region project manager Dudley Mbambo said the number of planned devices on the N2 North will include 17 cameras, three VMS, five VDS (vehicle detection system) and one weather station.
Mbambo did not specify as to when the boards would be erected and said similar devices that are currently in operation along the N2, can be seen between King Shaka International Airport and Isiphingo Interchange and along the N3 from EB Cloete Interchange and Market Road Interchange.
He also confirmed that they were busy finding an electrical contractor to repair the street lights between the Tongaat Toll Plaza and Umdloti that have not been not working for months.
