Locals revamp beach toilets at Granny’s Pool – Salt Rock
The toilets had been in an unpleasing state for years.
A regular surfing trip next to Granny’s Pool in Salt Rock for two local business partners, Matthew Chaplin and Wayne Molyneaux, of Jemstract resulted in a total revamp of the toilets near the pool.
The toilets had been in an unpleasing state for years, but thanks to nature’s call that came while they were still at the beach they realised that something urgently had to be done to upgrade them.
“It is amazing how the local businesses have rallied together. We now have about 13 companies working together in giving these toilets a new look,” said Molyneaux.
He said the total value of the work was about R150 000 or more and by the time they finish renovating the toilets they will have a completely new lease on life.

Molyneaux said they would replace everything but the walls and the roof.
“We have companies helping with everything from the paving and gutters to new toilet roll holders and mirrors. A new signboard with all the company logos involved and the rules and regulations with be erected.”
He further thanked all the companies that came on board to help.
