JDM Live event a supercharged hoot

The biking community was well represented with Suzuki GSXRs, Kawasaki Ninjas and Honda CBRs making a grand entrance behind a gorgeous Toyota Supra Mk4 owned by Lonika Oodhraj from Durban.

Casuarina Beach shook to the sound of eardrum shattering exhausts and speakers at the 2019 JDM Live Festival last Sunday, November 17.

Among the stunningly prepared bikes, cars and owners were some of the rarest classic Japanese motoring masterpieces that KwaZulu Natal has to offer, including an orange Datsun 510 with a massive turbocharger and a heavily modified Mitsubishi Evo 8.

Music from KCD Klub Kulcha entertained families and braai stands were broken out as the smell of braai meat and burnt rubber filled the air, while as the parking lot filled up with members from Local Japs SA, XMEN KZN Crew, Toyota Republik and Subaru Fun Crew.

“The turnout was much better than expected and the weather held up which was great. This was the biggest JDM car event in KZN I have ever seen,” said event organizer Cassidy Ramen.
