M4 to remain closed for at least four weeks
According to Ten Civils staff, completion of the road is expected within three to four weeks should no delays occur.
The M4 Ruth First Highway is likely to remain closed for at least another four weeks to repair a section of the southbound road which was washed away in the recent heavy rains.
The road remains closed between uMhlanga and Sibaya and contractors Ten Civils, which has been appointed to repair the roadway, has sent out an appeal to road users, pedestrians and cyclists to avoid the area completely while repairs are underway.

According to a site foreman on duty on Tuesday morning, the weekend prior saw two separate incidents in which a man walking his dog had to have his pet rescued when the dog became trapped at the repair site.

In a separate incident, a child is said to have also fallen into the site.

According to Ten Civils staff, completion of the road is expected within three to four weeks should no delays occur.
Motorists are advised to use the alternative R102, N2 and M41 roads.
