Stage 4 loadshedding set to remain in effect this Tuesday

Loadshedding set to continue for the remainder of the week.

Stage 6 loadshedding yesterday evening was dropped on South Africans with little to almost no warning or information on what to expect.

Eskom has since come out and offered an unreserved apology for the implementation of stage 6 following the failure of the power supply to the incline conveyors which feed coal to the silos at the Medupi power station.

This failure exacerbated the already low supply of capacity.

Technical teams are said to have worked around the clock and have resumed coal handling operations at the Medupi power station, returning the schedule to stage 4 loadshedding.

“Eskom unreservedly apologises to all South Africans for the inconvenience during this difficult period.

“In addition, we remain grateful to large power users for their invaluable assistance offered today,” said Jabu Mabuza, Eskom’s Acting Group Chief Executive and Interim Executive Chairman.
