Calling all young orchestra performers

After graduating in composition and conducting, Kelsey travelled to Spain to complete her master's in composing music for film, TV and interactive media and worked with large clients across international borders before returning home to Ballito.

The Dolphin Coast Youth Orchestra, for people with a shared passion to play music together, is the brainchild of Kelsey Joanne Rogers.

Kelsey is a composer, conductor, orchestrator and songwriter who has spent the last year back home in South Africa.

After attending both Umhlali Prep School and Crawford College North Coast, Kelsey travelled to the USA to pursue further studies at the Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts.

After graduating in composition and conducting, Kelsey travelled to Spain to complete her master’s in composing music for film, TV and interactive media and worked with large clients across international borders before returning home to Ballito.

Kelsey’s desire to create a youth orchestra stems from her yearning to provide the opportunity for local musicians to get involved in the orchestral environment and come together, to harmonize the hours they spend alone practising their instruments in a concert to experience a new direction for playing.

Kelsey has a wealth of knowledge to impart to young musicians between the ages of seven and 22 as members of the Dolphin Coast Youth Orchestra, and urges young performers to open applications with her on dcyorchestra@gmail.com, or contact her directly at 064 486 4804. Kelsey aims to begin performance material by February 1, 2020.
