Eskom implements stage two early so ‘matrics can get their results’
Eskom announced earlier this evening that istage two loadshedding would start on Wednesday morning 1am through to 6am.

Social media users are up in arms demanding to know exactly what the release of the 2019 matric results have to do with loadshedding.
Eskom said earlier this evening that it had opted to loadshed in the early hours of the morning tomorrow to ensure loadshedding did not occur after 6am and prevent matriculants from receiving their results.
Stage two loadshedding will start at 1am through to 6am.
“The decision will also allow the matriculants enough time to make their way home safely,” Eskom said.
“In order to minimise the impact of the loadshedding on South Africans, loadshedding is scheduled at night to maximise electricity availability during the working day.
“Owing to a loss of additional generation capacity, emergency reserves had to be extensively utilised to supplement capacity during the day.
“These now need to be replenished to meet tomorrow’s electricity demand.”
Ballito and the southern grid users will not be affected however, KwaDukuza’s northern grid users are set to experience an outage from 2am through to 4.30am.
Tongaat will have its load shed from between 4am and 6am while Mandeni will remain unaffected.
