Booming festive season for North Coast businesses
This is the tune being whistled by many local business owners who have shared that their expectations of the holidays have not only been met, but exceeded as well.

Business was fantastic this festive season.
This is the tune being whistled by many local business owners who have shared that their expectations of the holidays have not only been met, but exceeded as well.
One such business which has come out with a victory dance is the Ballito Junction Regional Mall which attracted a whopping 1.4 million people last December.
Chief executive Geraldine Jorgensen said they were grateful for the business of local and greater KwaZulu-Natal residents, as well as to the national and international tourists who flocked to Ballito.
The highest foot count was on Christmas eve, with more than 69 000 shoppers recorded on that day alone.
“With the start of the New Year, large numbers of holidaymakers and locals continue to shop at Ballito Junction,” said an enthusiastic Jorgensen.
Jorgensen also conveyed her thanks to the mall retailers, service providers and the local law enforcement, who ensured an enjoyable and safe environment for shoppers.
“It was a combined effort and our tenants and their staff worked hard during extended trading hours to ensure a great, secure shopping and entertainment experience for all.”
But the Ballito Junction was not the only happy attraction which was visited by holidaymakers.
Marketing manager for the Ballito Lifestyle Centre, Tessa Woodley said their expectations of the season had been exceeded and the feedback from holidaymakers and locals alike was fantastic.
Woodley said there was not a single day that their food section, Eat Street and The Market, was not busy.
Woodley said tenants at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre were delighted with the turnout of holidaymakers.
Lifestyle Dischem owner Dave Faber said they had performed much better than the previous year.
Further north in Salt Rock, the New Salt Rock City Shopping Centre estate manager, Theo van As said business had been good and had exceeded what they had hoped for.
Nicky Vorster, centre manager for the Tiffany’s shopping centre said that they too were very busy throughout the festive season and that they had seen a marginal increase in business.
Vorster added that she believed that the newly installed traffic lights may very well have contributed to the increase.
