April Fool’s Day goes into lockdown

We ask all our online users to respect this decision and to please refrain from posting April Fool's jokes on any of our online platforms.

It’s no joke, April Fool’s Day has this year been put to bed by the news industry at large with even Google opting to breakaway from the annual day of hoaxes.

Companies around the globe, including The North Coast Courier, have taken the decision not to do April Fool’s Day jokes this year.

“Sadly these may only promote the spread of fake news around coronavirus,” said Editor, Lesley Naude.

Currently, nearly all news items or stories are somehow related to Covid-19, and even an innocent hoax may lead to the spread of fake news and distasteful, hurtful eventualities.

We ask all our online users to respect this decision and to please refrain from posting April Fool’s jokes on any of our online platforms.
