Thembeni man infected with Covid-19 urges people to follow rules
He said he now realised that he had put his eight family members, including his two children, at risk.

A 28-year-old Thembeni resident who recently tested positive for Covid-19 said he understood that being quarantined was in his best interest.
The petrol attendant at the Umvoti Ultra City North Bound Service Station, who is currently on quarantine at the Ntunjambili hospital said he was tested last Monday and received his results on Wednesday, May 7.
“I am a people person and have lots of friends that I have been visiting and some came to visit me. Even when I got the call about my results, I was with my friends in Ntshawini enjoying beef head meat.”
He said he now realised that he had put his eight family members, including his two children, at risk.
“I saw the health department vehicles parked in Thembeni – they were conducting door-to-door screening. I told them I was not feeling well, my throat was sore. They checked me and my results came back positive. They called me and said they were on their way to pick me up and instructed my family members not to go anywhere, they must stay at home. They will also be tested.”
He said besides that, he had been in contact with his colleagues at work and they have family and friends that had been in contact with them.
He does not remember how many people he may have infected because he was out a lot.
“As much as it is stressing and irritating being at home the whole day, I urge people to please follow the rules because this is serious.”
