M4 freeway repair nears completion

Ample progress has been made in the repair of the M4 between Sibaya Circle and Lighthouse Road.

The M4 Ruth First freeway, damaged by a wash-away near Umhlanga last November, may be reopened in June.

Devru Construction had made good progress repairing the road between Sibaya Circle and Lighthouse Road and asphalting was scheduled to start soon, according to ward 58 councillor Geoff Pullan.

The western embankment had been completed and both embankments were being planted.

“The anticipated completion date is now June 12.

“Providing there is no severe weather or other mishaps, the M4 should be open soon,” said Pullan.
