New early learning school imminent at Reddam House Ballito

An investment of R40 million will see to the construction of 12 classrooms to accommodate 265 children from ages 1 to 5.

The next step in development at new private school Reddam House Ballito is underway with a new early learning school (ELS) imminent.

The official groundbreaking of the ELS took place on March 30, although levelling and other groundwork has been underway for over a month.

An investment of R40 million will see to the construction of 12 classrooms to accommodate 265 children from ages 1 to 5.

Reddam House Ballito’s main sports field will overlook the early learning school, as will the main building of the school on the right hand side of this image.

The school has been designed in line with the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning which translates to open spaces and communal areas like the central piazza where students will be able to mingle.

“We believe that early exposure to international educational best practices in a nurturing, purpose-built, child-centred learning environment with a family-centred atmosphere prepares children for productive, creative, and caring adulthood,” said Sheena Crawford-Kempster, director of education for Inspired Education South Africa.

The erection of the new school means that students housed in the main school building will be able to move into a dedicated space by November.

This further frees up space in the main building for junior and high school students as the school grows to have its first matric class in 2022.

“This new addition comes as a direct response to growing demand in Ballito and on the North Coast and we are excited to unveil this next phase as the school grows from strength to strength,” said Ravi Nadasen, CEO of Inspired Education South Africa.

The school has a dedicated camera set up on the building process and will release regular updates in the coming months.
