Townsend Park Covid-19 vaccinations resume for over 50s

If you are over 50, Covid-19 vaccinations have restarted today at Townsend Park, Ballito, today (July 16).

Vaccinations at the site will run from 9am to 3pm daily until Sunday.

Covid-19 vaccination sites were forced to shut their doors across the province earlier this week when violent protest action, rioting and looting brought the province to its knees.

As of July 15, 16 435 new cases had been reported across South Africa, with a 7-day average of 16 856 cases.

South Africa has a total of 2 253 240 cases, 65 972 deaths and 1 982 122 recoveries.

Active cases amount to 205 146, according to the health department.

In KwaZulu-Natal, confirmed cases stand at 373 285, with deaths coming in at 10 979 and recoveries at 339 261 – there are currently 23 045 active cases in the province.

Four ways to register:
– Go to the EVDS portal to register: www.vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za.
– You can register on the Covid Whatsapp number by sending ‘Register’ to 0600 123 456.
– You can also register by SMS by dialling *134*832*your ID number.
– South Africans who don’t have an ID number can also dial *134*832# for assistance.
