#StrongWomen: Anglican Church of Southern Africa’s youngest female clergy rises above her challenges [Watch]
In 2012, at the age of 27, Buli Sihlali-Woolley became the youngest female clergy to enter ministry in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.
At 21 Buli Sihlali-Woolley had a baby out of wedlock and was banished to live with her grandparents in the Transkei.
But she did not give up on her dream and God did not give up on her.

Nine years later the Sheffield resident is a semi-finalist for the Mrs South Africa pageant.
“I got a baby out of wedlock and the first thing my mother said to me was that she was disowning me,” said Buli, who said her mother’s attitude helped her to take responsibility for her life.
But it was the support from other women that enabled her to overcome the challenge of raising her daughter.
This indomitable young woman has an incredible story, which she shares in a video interview with editor Lesley Naudé.
