Choir of angels come to All Souls Anglican Church at Sheffield
The choir is currently under the direction of Ros Conrad, who continuously explores ways to extend the choir's repertoire and appeal to a wider audience in the hopes of developing young and fresh talent.
Masters of song, the Durban Symphonic Choir, will perform at the All Souls Anglican Church in Sheffield next Sunday at 3pm.
The choir is known for its brilliant execution of many major classical choral works such as Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Joseph Haydn’s The Creation.
Formed by Heather Brandon at the request of the Durban Council in 1966, the Durban Symphonic Choir has built up a loyal following of music lovers.
It has also formed a lasting relationship with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The choir is currently under the direction of Ros Conrad, who continuously explores ways to extend the choir’s repertoire and appeal to a wider audience in the hopes of developing young and fresh talent.
Tickets usually sell out fast, so buy your tickets beforehand to avoid disappointment.
All proceeds go to The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and The Nkobongo Resource Centre.
Orphan Fund funding coordinator, Mpume Vilakazi, said she was delighted to have the Durban Symphonic Choir return once again for their annual concert.
Tickets cost R100 per adult and R50 for children and scholars.
