A 46-year-old woman died in Shakaskraal this morning after touching an exposed wire in her home.
Emergency services were initially contacted after the woman reportedly collapsed and remained unresponsive.
“Upon examination, the casualty did not show any sign of life and they were declared dead on scene,” said Medi Response spokesperson, Paul Herbst.
He said there were no signs that the electrocution was owing to an illegal connection.
Umhlali Saps officers attended the scene and will investigate further.
