Apart from the fun activities, the event also served as a beach clean-up initiative with an 8-ton truck worth of trash collected.
Ballito Day was a festive event at Salmon Bay on Saturday, with locals doing their bit to keep the beach clean.
From fun activities for children, to Miss Ballito finalists getting their hands dirty, Ballito Day also saw the Umkhonto Ka Shaka Zulu dancers put on a show.

Event organiser Johan du Toit said they raised more than R8 000 for the Imbalito Hope College.
The college forms part of the Mikhail D iHope Foundation that supports youth with autism.

Their goal is to upskill these youth to enter a meaningful vocation.
While a bag count of trash collected during the beach clean-up was not done, Du Toit noted they had filled an 8-ton truck.

“We extend a heartfelt thank you to our many sponsors for making the day possible,” Du Toit said.
