Taxi carrying schoolchildren rolls on N2 at Tinley Manor

The taxi was carrying 16 schoolchildren when it was involved in a collision with a cash-in-transit vehicle.

A taxi transporting schoolchildren lost control and rolled after a collision involving a cash-in-transit vehicle on the N2 northbound near Tinley Manor this afternoon, injuring 16 schoolchildren.

IPSS Medical Rescue’s Samantha Meyrick said medics are currently at the accident scene treating the children. Injuries range from minor to critical.

The injured will be taken to various hospitals for further care.

Motorists are urged to proceed with caution, with traffic on the N2 northbound reduced to one lane and backed up about 5km.

*NOTE: An update from medics has confirmed that 16 children were injured, and not 11 as initially reported.
