Telling the stories of Isibindi
Natasha Freeman shared how the idea for the book had evolved from a coffee table book with basic information for guests at the lodges, into the full-blown history of Isibindi.
The Gallery at Ballito Lifestyle Centre last week played host to the launch of former Ballito author Natasha Freeman’s new book, A Place of Meeting, the Birth of Isibindi Africa Lodges.
The book chronicles the origins of Ballito-based Isibindi Africa Lodges through the eyes of its owners Brett and Paige Gehren, as well as the Isibindi family.
Speaking via voice note from Australia, Natasha said she was sad to have missed the event.
She shared with the audience how the idea for the book had evolved from a coffee table book with basic information for guests at the lodges, into the full-blown history of Isibindi.
“The true story behind the stories began to emerge as the whole Isibindi family shared this wonderful glimpse into life in South Africa,” she said.
The book is available on Amazon.
