Held at Relax Inn in Salt Rock last Saturday, the event drew over 100 ladies to the fundraiser for a night of dancing and mirth.

They get no government funding and are supported solely by donations.

“It was the first time we have tried a ladies night and are grateful that so many people came out in support,” said daycare and fundraising manager, Thilo Naidoo.

“The entire venue was sponsored by Relax Inn and we are appreciative for their help to ensure all funds go directly back into the hospice.”

Dolphin Coast Hospice offers support to anyone who is terminally ill in the area, most of whom are cancer patients.

They provide meals and medical help, while also offering haircuts and other aesthetic programmes to help patients maintain their dignity during their final days.

Families of the patients are also offered grief counselling.

Reshmi Visnath and Sheshika Naidoo.

“Fundraising is such a crucial part of the process and we thank everyone who attends our events for their continued support,” said Naidoo.

“We are currently at the fundraising stage for a 20-bed hospital in KwaDukuza and the municipality has sponsored land.”
