New mall opens doors at Shakaskraal

With the mall fully let, shoppers can expect to find a wide offering to meet their needs.

Shakaskraal consumers are upbeat about the new shopping convenience on their doorstep.

The new 5 000m2 Magwaza Mall opened its doors last week with more than 20 tenants, including anchors Boxer Superstores and Boxer Liquors.

Among the other prominent tenants are Ackermans and Clothing Junction.

More than 300 jobs were created during the construction phase, with 150 permanent job opportunities.

Boxer Superstores manager Sboniso Tobo said they were pleased that the new development offered employment opportunities for the local community.

With the mall fully let, shoppers can expect to find a wide offering to meet their needs including cosmetic, furniture, homeware, fast food and cell phone stores, as well as a hair salon.

A new clinic with a dedicated pharmacy and doctor’s surgery are also on site.

The mall was developed by the North Global Group and is the result of a ground-breaking partnership with the Nidd family, inkosi Jiba Magwaza, the local traditional council, Dolphin Coast Taxi Association and KwaDukuza municipality.

North Global Group’s Peter Cameron said: “What a wonderful experience it’s been to develop here. We encourage more people to do business in the area in the future. Not only is it possible, but it is welcoming and rewarding.”
