Early Christmas cheer for Vulamehlo Hospice gogos

One of the founders of Vulamehlo Hospice, Elizabeth Khumalo, struggled to find words to convey her gratitude.

It was a joyous occasion at Vulamehlo Hospice in Melville last Thursday when Boxer Super Store brought Christmas cheer to the gogos.

Groceries and cosmetics valued at R10 000 were handed to the senior ladies, creating smiles that lit up the yard.

Boxer corporate social responsibility manager Busile Makhanya said through The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, they decided to celebrate the elderly women with early Christmas gifts as acknowledgement of their selfless dedication to their families and grandchildren.

“You spent lots of your time and money looking after your families and grandchildren but end up not looking after your personal needs. So we came here today, wanting you to have all the cosmetics that will keep your bodies fresh and clean. We thank you for all the work you do at home,” said Makhanya.

She extended her heartfelt thanks to The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund for facilitating Boxer’s contribution.

Khumalo emphasised the significant impact the donations would make.

Vulamehlo Hospice has been a pillar of support for the KwaDukuza community for more than a decade, offering 24-hour in-patient palliative nursing and home-based care.
