Washed up body recovered on Westbrook Beach

Search teams found the woman after being alerted by lifeguards early this morning.

The body of a woman in her late 40s was recovered near Westbrook this morning.

After being alerted by lifeguards at around 6.30am, search and rescue teams recovered the body which has since been handed over to police for further investigation.

Teams included IPSS Search and Rescue, the Community Emergency Response Team, Marshall Security, Umhlali Saps K9 Search and Rescue and Tongaat Saps.

It is the fourth body that has been found washed up on shore between Zimbali and Umdloti over the past year.

No further information is available at present.
