Ballito Neighbourhood Watch’s best potjie competition brims with community spirit
Seventy-six simmering pots cooked up a feast for the public.
Townsend Park was transformed into a culinary battleground on Saturday for the highly anticipated Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) fundraiser potjie competition.
Seventy-six simmering pots cooked up a feast for the public, who were able to enjoy a meal for only R50 while contributing to a worthy cause.

The competition heated up as teams showcased their unique takes on the beloved potjie.
Lamb was a favourite, but every combination imaginable made its way to the judges’ plates.

Castrol Engineering took home the title of Best Pot with a twist on a Mexican chili con carne with short rib and a secret ingredient, while Vered Estates snagged the Best Team Spirit prize.
Mins Panelbeaters and Auto Repairs also joined the winner’s circle, earning the prize for Best Stand.

Excitement filled the air with plenty of prize giveaways and endless activities that kept kids entertained throughout the event.
BNW chairperson Morné Steffens thanked everyone for their support and said it was the best potjie competition they had ever hosted.
