“Mandela Day is a reminder that each of us has the power to make a difference, no matter how small the gesture,” she said.

“We are truly humbled to have partnered with The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, an organisation doing extraordinary work for those who need it most. Giving our time and financial support to the elderly was not only a privilege, but a deeply grounding experience for our entire team. We are grateful to have played even a small part in honouring Madiba’s legacy.”

Orphan Fund fundraising co-ordinator Charmaine Premlal thanked sponsors for making the day possible.

“Your kindness helped us honour Madiba’s legacy of service, compassion and community upliftment. The Orphan Fund also took the opportunity to celebrate our birthday which falls in Mandela month and our Soup, Socks and Snuggles campaign was tremendously boosted by the donations received,” she said.
