Arno Carstens and Perez light up a stormy ‘Music on the Farm’

The vibes remained high, despite a 45-minute break for bad weather.

Thunderstorms and lightning had music lovers running for cover at Friday’s Music on the Farm concert at Karibu.

The weather, clear for most of the day, turned into a deluge just as the crowd waited for South African music legends Arno Carstens and Perez to perform.

Event organiser Gareth Arnold said he was happy with the vibe despite the weather gods forcing a 45-minute pause in the show.

“The weather didn’t dampen the mood, it lifted the gees as everyone headed to the dam, it was a vibe,” said Gareth.

Rorke Hunter opened the event with some old-school acoustic hits from yesteryear.

The event is family-friendly, featuring kids’ play areas and an outdoor bar. Guests bring their deck chairs and blankets and settle on the grass banks overlooking the weaver dam as their favourite bands take the stage.

“Bringing renowned artists like Arno Carstens and Perez to our community has been such an honour. Karibu will continue to host Music on the Farm concerts to showcase great performances in our unique setting, said Gareth.
