Big turnout for popular annual Gesinskerk Christmas bazaar

The event featured more than 40 vendors offering unique Christmas décor, handmade crafts, and delicious homemade food.

Visitors flocked to the Ballito Gesinskerk on Saturday for its annual festive bazaar, transforming the church grounds into a vibrant hub of community spirit and holiday cheer.

The event featured more than 40 vendors offering unique Christmas décor, handmade crafts, and delicious homemade food. Families enjoyed a lively play area complete with face painting, a water slide, horse riding and a jumping castle, ensuring plenty of fun for the little ones.

Inside, sweet treats such as freshly baked desserts and cakes tempted those with a sweet tooth, while the aroma of sizzling braais and gourmet pizzas filled the outdoor market. A popular gift-wrapping station added a professional touch for shoppers preparing for the festive season.

Bazaar co-ordinator Leonie Spangenberg highlighted the purpose behind the event.

“Our congregation does this to generate funds to contribute to other non-profits,” she said.

Funds raised will support children’s homes, retirement communities and Gesinskerk’s feeding scheme outside the BP garage.

“Thanks to everyone in the community who came along and made the festival so special,” said Leonie.
