Mediclinic Victoria opens new critical care unit

The opening marks a significant investment in the hospital's healthcare services and is aimed at improving access to advanced critical care closer to home.

Mediclinic Victoria officially opened its new Critical Care Unit last Friday, expanding its capacity to provide specialised care to patients on the North Coast.

The state-of-the-art unit has been designed to care for critically ill patients in a modern, patient-centred environment and is equipped with advanced medical technology to support complex treatment and monitoring.

The opening marks a significant investment in the hospital’s healthcare services and is aimed at improving access to advanced critical care closer to home.

The event was attended by members of the hospital’s board of directors, specialists, management, staff and invited guests, who celebrated the completion of the project.

Client Experience and Doctor Relationship Manager Renisha Kistnan said the new unit reflects Mediclinic Victoria’s ongoing commitment to healthcare.

“The new Critical Care Unit has been designed to provide high-quality critical care in a modern, patient-centred environment and is equipped with advanced technology to support the management of critically ill patients,” she said.

Kistnan said the investment demonstrates the hospital’s dedication to clinical excellence and innovation.

She said the expanded facility would strengthen the hospital’s ability to provide specialised care locally, ensuring patients and their families have access to advanced treatment without having to travel further afield.

Mediclinic Victoria also acknowledged the contribution of its board, specialists, staff and project partners whose support and dedication helped bring the new facility to completion.
