Find beauty in the passage of time at new The Gallery exhibition
Wabi-Sabi opens at The Gallery at The Studios in Ballito Lifestyle Centre today and will run until October 31.
A new exhibition launching at The Gallery this week invites visitors to embrace the beauty of imperfection.
Wabi-Sabi opens at The Gallery at The Studios in Ballito Lifestyle Centre on August 6 and will run until October 31. It is named after the centuries-old Japanese philosophy that celebrates simplicity, authenticity and the natural passage of time.
Contemporary artworks on show will explore resilience and transformation.
Gallery curator Sarah O’Reilly said the exhibition offers a welcome contrast to a culture that often prioritises perfection.
“Wabi-Sabi asks us to pause. It reminds us that cracks tell stories, weathering creates character and beauty often lives in the things we overlook,” said O’Reilly.
“My hope is that visitors leave not only seeing the artworks differently but seeing themselves with a little more gentleness too.”
The gallery is open daily from 9am to 5pm. For more information, visit thegalleryballito.co.za, or follow
