Crawford’s bubbly bonding adventure

Teacher Dominique Buck shares her experience of the Grade 9 bonding tour.

The Grade 9s, old hats at bonding tours by now, cruised up to the Drakensberg for this year’s bonding tour.

Some talented DJs kept the bus pumping with phat jams and an appropriate amount of tour selfies were taken.

Through emerald hills the bus rolled, until we entered the little slice of mountain heaven that was Dragon’s Peak.

After establishing our temporary territories in the dorms and bungalows, it was time for teamwork, war cries and some horse-whispering.

After dominating in some hilarious, I mean challenging, tasks, it was time to make a splash.

The mad canoe race, earth-shaking bomb competition and mental high-board jumps were a great end to the first day.

The next two days saw archers being born, zip-lining goddess’ flash through gorgeous tree lines, wild acrobatics on the king swing, fears being silenced, hair being braided, intense teacher-student volleyball war being waged, an incredible storm-washed night hike being survived and delicious stok-brood being eaten with caramel and smiles.

Ms Lubbe, Mr Northcroft, Ms Tapp and Mr Vadivellu thank the Grade 9s for an incredible bonding tour.

Can’t wait for next year’s tour!
