An evening in Shangri-La

Destiny Life Academy hosts their matric dance in Ballito.

At Destiny Life Academy’s matric dance on Friday night, Braeside wedding and function venue was transformed into a picturesque Japanese garden with pink cherry blossoms, white fairy lights, Japanese wooden screens and even a fierce dragon.

The 20 matric pupils and their partners looked dashing in their formal wear and were excited for the glamorous evening ahead.

Art teacher Amy Kruger, pupils, staff and some parents worked together as a team to make the delicate props for the Japanese themed dance.

The staff at Braeside blocked the punch of Eskom’s load shedding with a generator that kicked in as the power went off at 7 pm, allowing pupils, teachers and parents to enjoy an uninterrupted evening in Shangri-La.
