Soul Buddyz cotton on

Verulam Primary pupils work together to help those in need.

In a magnificent gesture of goodwill, Verulam Primary School Soul Buddy’z raised R2 100 for the Cottonlands classroom project, which seeks to expand the teaching facilities at the small school in order to accommodate the learning needs of the children.

“Its indeed heart-warming that pupils have taken the initiative to help disadvantaged children from another school,” said chairman of the Billy Nair education desk, Lajeeth Maharaj, who believes that the commitment of the children in the Soul Buddyz club is a shining example of community investment.

“This is a huge victory for nation building at grassroots level and such simple acts of charity and goodwill are the foundation stones of a great future.”

Maharaj highlighted this donation as part of an important initiative to aid the growth of disadvantaged communities who deserve the same opportunities granted to others.

“Amid the doom, gloom and negativity surrounding us at the moment, this act of humanitarianism must act as a beacon of hope to many in our community and those in positions of power,” he said.
