Dave de Vries, Junior College head of sport, is thrilled with the growth of the equestrian team.
“It is such a healthy form of sport and we are extremely excited that our juniors are performing so well in all levels,” said De Vries.
The past weekend was another successful day for the Ashton riders, as Emma Erasmus took a third and a first, Chad Hoggan notched up two first places, and Jenna Atherstone clinched two second places.
Senior College riders Tyla Hooper and Anne Isaacs have also enjoyed great success on horseback.
Tyla Hooper competed at the SA Pony Champs in the July holidays and achieved two first place ribbons and a second place ribbon for the 90cm show jumping category.
Anne Isaacs was awarded her full provincial colours for being selected to the open equitation team and won ribbons for her performance at the SA Pony Champs.
